Why does it matter?

The term Hyperautomation was coined in 2019 by the IT research and advisory firm Gartner. Gartner calls hyperautomation, a mixture of automation technologies that exist to augment and expand human capabilities.

For us, Hyperautomation is rather a combination of a human-first approach and set of advanced technologies for scaling automation in the enterprise. Hyperautomation is not the use of a single (often siloed) automation technology to solve one tactical use case within the organization. For Hyperautomation to work, it requires a platform long term mindset and close collaboration between people and digital technologies. Hyperautomation can bring incredible flexibility, efficiency and speed to the digital initiatives within any organization.

Hyperautomation involves the orchestrated use of multiple technologies, tools or platforms, including:

  • Artificial intelligence (AI)
  • Machine learning
  • Event-driven software architecture
  • Robotic Process Automation (RPA)
  • Business Process Management (BPM) and intelligent business process management suites (iBPMS)
  • Integration platform as a service (iPaaS)
  • Low-code/no-code tools
  • Packaged software
  • Other types of decision, process and task automation tools

Hyperautomation is currently a top trend on the Gartner Top Strategic Technology Trends for 2022 and beyond. .

Use Hyperautomationn as a business-driven, disciplined & innovative approach that enables identification, optimalization and automation of as many (end-to-end) business and IT processes as possible. It is not bound by technology, rather by creativity.
